Phoenix is named after a mythical bird the rises to a new life from ashes. Even today the name is fitting. The Arizona Science Center has over 300 hands on exhibits. The Phoenix Museum of History, The Arizona State Capitol Museum, The Shemer Art Center and Museum, Arizona Hall of Fame, Arizona Military Museum, and the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum are all worth visiting!
If strolling through the gardens is something that interests you then be sure to visit Desert Botanical Gardens. But if you’d rather explore a castle be sure to visit Mystery Castle a three story castle that was build back in 1945 to make a daughter’s dreams come true. It was mad of stone, auto parts, and petroglyphs all bonded with a mix of goat’s milk and cement. What’s really neat is it’s the daughter who does the tours.
Phoenix Zoo is also a great place to visit with over 125 acres to explore from the African Savanna to the tropical rainforest to the Arizona desert.
The Castles N’ Coasters is one of the oldest amusement parks in Phoenix and it’s worth a visit. Take a ride on the thrilling roller coaster or enjoy some of the tamer rides. There’s also more than 300 arcade games to choose from.
If you’ve been dying for a game of golf Phoenix is the place to be with ample choices. The Wildfire Golf Club was designed by Arnold Palmer, while the Raven Golf Club can be found at South Mountain. Then there’s the Phantom Horse Golf Club, Talking Stick Golf Club, Club West, Legacy Golf Resort, Lakes at Ahwatukee, Papago, Anthem Country Club, and Foothills Golf Club to name just a few of your choices.
After a refreshing game of golf why not head down to the Phoenix Stages where you’ll find the Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theatre, and Herberger Theater Center all with a great mix of live performances. It’s an exceptional experience so don’t miss it.
