Almost all of us at some point in our lives would like to lose those few extra pounds. According to the television or magazines it’s easy to lose those pounds. But is dieting the answer for you?
If you want to lose those extra pounds you are going to need to burn more calories than you take in. You can accomplish this by increasing your activity level and decreasing your calorie intake which is called dieting.
There is plenty of dieting information available online and lots of online services provide weight loss information and programs. You can even buy e-books. The goal of these programs is to provide the right tools for you to loose those extra pounds. And of course each one of them believes they have the best program.
So how do you choose the best program? Realistically the best program is the one that works for you. It may take some trial and error to find the right solution but what’s important is that you don’t give up.
We are all familiar with some of the programs that we hear lots about on TV like Weight Watchers or the Atkins Diet but there are other good programs as well. Here are 10 programs we think are worth checking out.
Weight Watchers has been around for a long time and it uses science and its experience to continuously improve its program. Their goal is healthy weight loss and they offer two different food plans – The Point Plan and The No Counting Plan. The later focuses on providing healthy wholesome foods from all the food groups.
The South Beach Diet has been around for some time and many have found it works well for them. The Blood Type Diet is one that intrigues me. If you take the time to understand the theory behind it, you may find it actually makes good sense. This diet is based on the theory that different blood types require different types of food and different weight management programs. It’s a bit more complicated than some of the other programs but it certainly has some interesting ideas to present.
There are many other diet programs to choose from. If you want to lose those extra pounds you really only have two choices – increase the amount of activity you do, or diet. The best method is to combine both by reducing your calorie intake and increasing your calorie burn. So if you need to lose those extra pounds chances are dieting is for you!
