“Old Acquaintance” is the story of two best friends who experience turbulence in their friendship due to some secrets revealed. Is this the end of a long time relationship? Or will the hard times strengthen the bond between two friends further?

Written by John van Druten, “Old Acquaintance” grips the audience till the end. The fine direction by Michael Wilson brings out each character in depth and renders a reflection of excellent talent.

The two characters Kit and Milly are played by Margaret Colin and Harriet Harris, respectively. Kit, in the play, has an affair with a man younger her age while Milly, a divorcee, has no time for relationships, as she is busy bringing up her teenage daughter.

The sets of “Old Acquaintance” have been designed in such a way that it complements with the characters. They are also in a selected few numbers. However, Milly’s books consist largely of romances. The contrasting combination of the two characters makes the play more interesting.

After running for five months at Broadway, “Old Acquaintance” was made into a movie. It starred Bette Davis. The star cast of the show includes Diane Davis as Dierdre Drake, Stephen Bogardus as Preston Drake, Cynthia Darlow as Susan, Gordana Rashovich as Karina, and Corey Stoll as Rudd Kendall.

Margaret Collin is a noteworthy actress while Harriet Harris is known for doing complete justice to her characters every time she dons them. The leading pair creates a sensation on the stage. The audience simply loves them!

The lavish looking sets of this show have been created by the team of Alexander Dodge. The sophisticated costumes are the creative product of David Woolard. The lights are provided by Rui Rita and the sounds by John Gromada.
