Popular Television Shows on The NBC Network

NBC is one of the longest running television networks currently operating today. Not only does the network have a large amount of experience, but they also have a number of popular shows throughout the day. Each day millions of Americans tune into NBC to catch their latest daytime, primetime, and news shows.

The majority of NBC watchers begin their day with the Today Show. The Today Show is hosted by Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Ann Curry. Unlike other traditional morning shows the Today Show is three hours long. The today show started out as a two hour program; however, increased popularity made the network decide to expand the show. The Today Show does celebrity interviews and covers popular topics that affects Americans all across the country.

Daytime television is popular among many men and women. Two popular daytime television shows that air on NBC are Days of Our Lives and Passions. Passions is a fairly new show; however, the uniqueness of the show and crazy storylines works great at drawing in an audience. Passions is one of the lower rated daytime soap operas; however, it still has a fairly large fan following.

Days of Our Lives is the other daytime soap opera that airs on NBC. Days of Our Lives recently celebrated their fortieth year on the air. Days of Our Lives may not be the top rated soap opera around, but it is definitely one of the most popular. Days of Our Lives has some of the most loyal daytime fans around.

When nighttime rolls around so does the NBC Nightly News. The NBC Nightly News was once hosted by experienced Tom Brokaw; however, he recently retired. Talking over the hosting role is Brian Williams. Brian Williams is a popular newscaster that millions of Americans tune into every night to get the daily news and important issues that matter.

NBC is also home to the popular Law and Order Series. The first and original Law and Order was developed and it is currently the longest running crime drama on television. Law and Order uses the full hour to realistically portray crime and punishment. A portion of the show involves the investigation of a particular crime and the second half of the show is when the criminal court proceedings begin. Law and Order was so popular that it developed two additional shows.

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is currently the most popular show out of the three Law and Orders. It follows detectives and prosecutors and they solve crimes and then put criminals on trial. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is different from the other crime shows on television because it deals with sex crimes involving individuals of all ages. The third Law and Order show is known as Criminal Intent. It has the same concept as the other two shows except for criminal trials are rarely ever shown.

The NBC network is a popular television network that is constantly high in the ratings. No matter what the time of day it is likely that there is an interesting and popular show on.
