See The Wild Africa On An African Safari

Africa is a unique continent home to many amazing animals and some awesome landscape. As beautiful as Africa is it is also an area that’s unforgiving. Home so some of the most dangerous animals on the planet it’s best explored with a guide. So why not see the wild Africa on an African Safari?

There are many companies offering African Safaris and many are dedicated to the conservation of the animals. The locations and the length of time vary as do the costs. A quick search online will provide you with many companies worth checking out. But we’re going to provide you with an idea of the various types of safaris available.

One of the Botswana African Safaris is called the Selinda and it’s a private wildlife concession that is located in northern Kwando Wildlife Management Area covering about 1350 square kilometers. They offer small groups and a very personal experience where guests get to experience a traditional African big game safari.

You’ll sleep in thatched roof tents on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. Camp has a great view of the palm islands and the flood plains. Because this is a permanent camp you’ll have all the luxuries of home like bathrooms and a bar, as well as a pool for the warm days.

Each day you’ll take an early morning game drive in the open are where you’ll get to see the cheetahs, lions, elephants, zebras, kudus, hippos, hyenas, sables, wild dogs, and so much more. In the early afternoon you can relax by the pool or grab an afternoon siesta under a tree. Late afternoon you’ll start your night drive which will present you with some of the nocturnal species

Uganda offers its own African Safaris and Semliki Safari Lodge located on the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve offers a truly private experience in a 500 square kilometer area. You’ll stay in large thatched roof tents that each have their own private patio with a view and running water as well as bathrooms.

You can spend your time relaxing by the pool or you can spend your time on one of the many adventures such as the Chimpanzee tracking, the guided walks, bird watching, jungle walks, and even fishing. And of course there are the daily safaris. This is the only African Safari in Uganda.

Mozambique is home to Benguerra Lodge which in the standards of Safaris this is pretty high class complete with private beach and private pool. This is such a peaceful place it will reach to the bottom of your soul. They are also very involved in the preservation and care of the marine eco system and the local wildlife. You’ll be enjoying snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, island walks, and so much more. This is a little tamer than the average safari experience but it will allow you to experience Africa in a different atmosphere.

Namibia has a few interesting camps. The Wolwedans Dunes Lodge sits high on a plateau high on top of the dunes so there’s some great dessert views here! The camp combines primitive wood structures that have the ambiance of a tent camp but are much more comfortable complete with en-suite bathrooms and private verandas.

Experienced guides will take you on tours through the vast variety of NamibRand Reserve both on foot and by landrover. There are also hiking packages available for the hiking enthusiast.

For many years Kenya was the best kept secret when it came to the untamed wilderness. The release of the movie Born Free brought this jewel to the forefront. Today there are many tour groups operating throughout Kenya.
