When it comes to vocal talent, you may assume that only the big corporations need them. It's obvious, if you're paying attention, that big companies like American Express and movie cinemas make use of professionals to perform their spots. They do, after all, have the money for it. But what about you? Have you ever thought that maybe your project needs the attention of someone who knows how to voice act? It's easy to assume that, just because you're putting together a small project, your project won't be much improved by a voice actor, but that just isn't the case. Voice-over artists work on more than just big-time commercials.

Podcasts. More and more organizations and business people are using podcasts to let others know what they have to offer. However, business moves at lightning speed these days, so this is no longer a new thing. Professionals are using podcasts to make their point, and that means your podcast has to be able to compete with theirs. It's a competitive world out there. Corporate and business videos. This means in-house presentations in addition to commercials. It should go without saying that your commercial – the handshake you present to potential customers, which is supposed to convince them you are the hottest thing since sliced bread – should be as professionally made as you can make it. However, there are scores of business people out there who decide to do it themselves. Don't be one of them. But you should also know that you need to make an impression on your employees and providers as well as on your customers. You don't want your best people leaving for another company who gives them a better environment to work in. In-house videos you show your people are part of that environment. Let that be an opportunity to make them feel proud of the company they work for.
Telephone system recordings. It is amazing how often these little gems are overlooked when people work out their finances. Even if you have a well-oiled operation, the voice on the phone that people hear when they call your organization can make or break you. If you give callers a professional experience, which can be done by hiring a professional voice actor to record your outgoing messages, then potential customers will respect you more. It sounds unimportant, but it can be huge. Do you want to be just one more annoyance on someone's list, or do you want doing business with you to be like a break from a anxiety-provoking day? People go where it's pleasant. Make your business pleasant.
