The television world is a tough one especial for sitcoms. It seems that more and more sitcoms are being cancelled before they are even given a shot. With all of reality television shows and crime dramas it is a wonder if sitcoms will ever return to what they used to be.

Although there are not as many sitcoms currently on their air as there were in the past there are still a number of funny shows that are making people laugh. These sitcoms may not be the most popular television shows around; however, there are still making people laugh week after week. Below are a few of the popular television sitcoms that are currently airing on television.

My Name is Earl was an instant successful for NBC. The show begin airing and Tuesday nights, but has since been moved to the popular Thursday night timeslot. My name is Earl stars funnyman Jason Lee as an ex-thief who won the lottery and is now out to make amends with every person that he ever wronged in the past.

The show How I Met Your Mother currently airs on CBS. The show is about a character name Ted who reflects back on his love life and how he originally fell in love. The show uses flashbacks and current time narration to tell the great love story of the character Ted. How I Met Your Mother is a popular CBS sitcom that not only leaves people laughing, but cheering for the characters.

Freddie is one of the few popular sitcoms currently on ABC. Although Freddie is not known as the greatest show currently on the air it does have a combination of great actors and actresses who know how to make watchers laugh. Brian Austin Green from 90210 and Freddie Prince Jr star is this popular show about dating, romance, and family.

Four Kings is a new comedy that recently began airing on NBC. Four Kings is developed by the creators of Will and Grace. Four Kings follows four friends who have known each other for life. The show follows their daily routines as they wish to stay and act young, but adulthood is calling. This sitcom is not only full on laughs, but in a way it speaks to many viewers who have in one way or another felt the exact same way.

Scrubs is a popular NBC show that has actually been around for a number of years. Unlike many other comedies on the air, or actually not on the air anymore, Scrubs is somewhat unrealistic, but completely funny. The show follows a number of men and women interns, doctors, and other members of the hospital staff as they make it through their shifts with humor, mistakes, and jokes.

Scrubs, Four Kings, Freddie, My Name is Earl, and How I Met Your Mother are all popular shows that currently airing on television. Although these shows are popular it is likely that some of them may not be around for much longer. As difficult as it is to see a popular sitcom go off the air it is something that is occurring more and more.
