Sarah Palin will meet with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan during the United Nations General Assembly next week, an official at the Afghan embassy in Washington said. The official said that Ms. Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee who has been governor of Alaska for 20 months, requested the meeting several days ago as part of an effort to become familiar with the leaders of key U.S. allies.
