From Humans to Canines Hats Are In!

Hat popularity rises and falls like the tides. The past few years baseball hats have become increasingly popular for both men and women and it appears we are now beginning to share our fashion sense with our canine friends. In fact from humans to canines hats are in!

There are many reasons for wearing a hat. From functionality to fashion hats have a purpose and it appears our dogs have also discovered how important looking good is. After all how often do you know see a pet that’s wearing a very cool hat, jacket, or even puppy boots. So whether you’re buying a hat for functionality, fashion, or fun make sure to include your canine pals!

Hats can actually be traced back to ancient times when hats were worn by hunters to protect them from extremely cold weather. Impressions have been found in archaeological digs that would indicate both basket hats and fur hats have been around for a very long time.

Hats have always been associated with the keeping of a secret. You’ve heard the phrase “I’ll keep it under my hat.” Even today certain types of movies like spy movies will use hats to disguise a character or to carry symbolism.

The modern hat wearer is much different. In fact these days men wear more hats than women. Hats today send out a message about who we are and what we stand for. Let’s take the baseball hat which usually has some type of message although sometimes it may be very subtle.

Perhaps a phrase, a company name, the name of a team, or a symbol may be on the baseball hat. Often you can figure out a great deal about the wearer just by the message. And oh what fun the guessing game itself can be. The message may convey a political position, a bit of sarcasm, or even a funny message for the world to read.

Women also wear baseball hats which are very trendy but they also may wear more fashionable hats such as the fedora or floppy hats which have always been popular with celebrities. And of course if it’s good for the celebrities it’s most certainly right for a women! These styles of hats will finish off a look. They can be classy, sophisticated, or fun depending on the style of hat and the outfit.

So if men and women are so in tune to making a fashion statement and revealing a little bit about themselves, then it just makes sense that we would take that to our beloved pets. After all in many a household the pets are true family members so why not let them have their own style to.

Just like people dogs have personalities too. What a better way to let the world know a little bit about your dog’s personality than with a hat. Only a few years ago you would have been lucky to find perhaps a half dozen different dog hats but do to the increasing popularity you can now choose from at least a hundred different dog hats.

Movies have had a lot to do with this increased attraction to adding style to our pooches. From the Elle’s little pooch to mini-me in Legally Blonde pet fashion became very trendy.

And just like with human hats there’s a variety of styles to choose from for your pooch. Whether you are looking for a sun visor, a floppy hat, or a baseball style hat you’ll have plenty to choose from.

Canine baseball hats are the greatest! Those phrases or symbols seem to take on a whole new meaning on a dog. Here come a bulldog with his Harley Davidson hat, or how about that toy poodle with her pink girly hat, oh wait here comes the latest Canucks fan. Yes you truly can match the hat to your dog’s personality.

So if you like getting some added attention or enjoy socialization then the next time you head out the door don’t forget to put your canine friend’s hat on too!
