Make Boston Your Next Vacation Destination

Boston the land of attractions for all ages. Whether you are young or old there’s something for everyone to enjoy! From the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere to the Boston Tea Party. It’s also the home of Cheers! Enjoy some of Boston’s oldest architecture and be sure to check out the more contemporary architecture in the financial district as well. Why not plan to make Boston your next vacation destination?

You must spend some time exploring some of the Boston neighborhoods. There’s some serious distinctions here, from the wealthy ritzy Back Bay area to the beautiful Beacon Hill. Cross the river to Boston’s Left Bank and you’ll get a chance to enjoy the funky, spunky Boston where culture thrives. This is a city diverse in muti-culture with a lot to offer everyone!

Don’t forget to spend some time exploring the cities seaport and the multitude of parks. Boston Common is America’s oldest park and it offers quite the viewpoints. While you’re here there are plenty of attractions to visit in Boston. Here are just a few that are worth seeing.

If you’d like to learn a little bit more about the history of the African American people there are plenty of interesting places to visit. Why not start with the African Meeting House is a church on Beacon Hill that dates back to 1806. It is the oldest black church in the US.

While you’re in the neighborhood why not visit the Abiel Smith School which was built in 1834 and named a white businessman who left a sizeable endowment to ensure the education of black children.

Then there is the Museum of Afro American History which is dedicated to ensuring that African American history is accurately maintained. There’s a wealth of information here! Then why not take a stroll down the Black Heritage Trail which encompasses the largest collection of African American historic sites.

If you enjoy the theater then a trip to the American Repertory Theatre is a must. It presents a wonderful mix of music, drama, comedy, and even some cutting edge works.

You should also take in the Boston Movie Tour which is about a 90 minute walking tour through what’s dubbed as Boston’s Movie Mile. Here you’ll find the location sets for Cheers, Good Will Hunting, and Ally McBeal just to name a few.

Speaking of Cheers, if you’re a diehard fan then you just have to stop by the Bull and Finch Pub. This is the birthplace of Cheers. It sits across from the Public Garden and the neighborhood was the inspiration for this long running TV sitcom. There’s lots of Cheer’s memorabilia here!

Don’t forget to make some time to have a look at the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum. This is a full size replica of one of the original ships and visitors can explore the galley, check out the crews quarters, and even take a walk along the decks.

If you’re an animal lover than a trip to Franklin Park Zoo is a must. This 72 acre park is home to over 200 species that roam freely in the Butterfly Landing, the Tropical Forest, the Australian Outback, the Kalahari Kingdom, and a host of other natural habitats.

If you’re looking for something just a little different then you just have to book a sunset cruise on the Charles Riverboat Tours. Along the tour the Captain will point out historical points of interest and you’ll enjoy a spectactular sunset!

If you are a Boston Red Sox fan you’ll just have to take a trip to Fenway Park the home of the Red Sox. It’s actually the smallest major league baseball park. There are even tours offered every day of the week.

And if architecture and history interest you then a trip to the Paul Revere House is in order. This is the oldest home in the downtown Boston area and it’s also the home of patriotic silversmith Paul Revere. The house was built in 1680 and is furnished with memorabilia and furnishings from the 17th and 18th Century as well as with some of Paul Revere’s silver creations.

These are only a few of the hundreds of things to see and do while visiting Boston. And while you are hear be sure to take in some of the wonderful restaurants and unique shopping that only a city like Boston can offer. Steeped with history and culture yet modern in every sense Boston is definitely the place to spend your next vacation!
