Favorite Disney Movies

Disney has been in the business of entertaining young ones, adults, and elders for many years whether it be with Disney Theme Parks or Disney movies. And there have been a ton of great Disney movies! So what are your favorite Disney movies?

It’s tough to pick isn’t it? But we’re going to try! One thing's for certain Disney has produced a host of classic movies that are certain to remain highly collected for years to come!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs released back in 1937 has to be one of the all time best cartoon movies ever. When it comes to Disney love seems to always be in the air. Snow White is no different. Snow White is a princess and the most beautiful women in the country which her jealous stepmother, who is the Queen, does not like. The wicked stepmother orders Snow White killed but the hunter is unable to kill her and she runs into the forest. There she discovers the home of the 7 Dwarfs. Snow White bites the poison apple and the Dwarfs think she is dead and then the handsome princess comes along.

Pinocchio released in 1940 is another favorite classic based on an Italian story about a puppet who becomes a real boy. Pinocchio is one of Disney’s finest characters and the movie is warm hearted filled with likeable characters and great music.

Cinderella released in 1950 is yet another classic. Once upon a time... there lived an unhappy young girl. Unhappy she was, for her mother was dead, her father had married another woman, a widow with two daughters, and her stepmother didn't like her one little bit. And so the spell bounding story begins. Cinderella tied to a life of cleaning and misery suddenly has her wish come true by the Fairy Godmother.

And then there was Peter Pan released in 1953. Here’s a story from a far away land about a boy that could fly. Peter Pan a fictional character created by J. M. Barrie a Scottish Author of the storybook is brought to life by Disney in the movie. The character is a little boy who refuses to grow up, and spends his time having magical adventures. It’s charming, imaginative, adventurous, and entertaining. So much that there have been several new releases over the years. This is a character that will live on in the hearts of children and adults.

Lady and the Tramp released in 1955 is one of Disney’s best movies. Here a simple story unfolds without the aid of rock star music or computer animation. One of the most memorable scenes in Lady and the Tramp occurs in the behind the Italian restaurant in the alley where Lady and Tramp are enjoying a heaping plate of spaghetti and meatballs. There is no question that Lady is falling in love – a common theme in Disney movies.

1989 saw the release of The Little Mermaid from the work of Hans Christian Andersen, is a story about a mermaid who at the age of 15 swims to the surface of the sea for the first time where she fell in love with the Prince she saved from drowning. She lost her fish tail, when she sold her voice to the evil sea witch. Determined to be human, she strikes a bargain with the devious sea witch, Ursula, and trades her fins and beautiful voice for legs. In a race against time Ariel must win the prince's love and save her father's kingdom!

1994 saw the release of Lion King probably the most popular Disney movie in more than a decade appealing to young and old. The Lion King is a great film. Along with a great story which was inspired by William Shakespeare's Hamlet. It has terrific animation and lessons that are learned like responsibility and honor. Tricked into thinking he killed his father, a guilt ridden lion cub flees into exile and abandons his identity as the future King

There are hundreds of other great Disney movies – Aladdin, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, The Fox and The Hound. The list could go on and on.

When it comes to choosing your favorite Disney movie it can be quite an impossible decision. One thing is for certain when Disney creates a movie it’s a memorable experience!
