The Story of Robin Hood

Many stories that have turned into famous movies, television shows, or books are often labeled as fairy tales. The story of Robin Hood is a little bit different because there are many individuals who believe it actually happened. Since there is little proof to back this claim up the story of Robin Hood is actually considered a mythological legend.

The legend claims that Robin hood was the leader of the Merry Men. According the story the Merry Men were a group of outlaws who felt it was their duty to fight the authorities. They often robbed the rich and gave the stolen money or items to the poor.

Robin Hood first appearing in writing in 1377. He appeared in a manuscript where is name was only mentioned. His name later resurfaced again in 1420. These times Robin Hood was only quickly referenced, but it wasn’t until later when his name was used for historical purposes.

As previously stated there has not been any proof that proves that Robin Hood existed; however, his name was mentioned in numerous historical writings and manuscripts. Since this time there have been a number of different books, movies, plays, and television shows that tell the story of Robin Hood. A large number of these plays, movies, and books have different variations of the Robin Hood story, but the message of Robin Hood is same throughout all of them.

The first every Robin Hood movie was a silent movie that was developed in 1908. This movie was titled Robin Hood and His Merry Men. Soon afterwards a number of different movies were developed. Only two silent Robin Hood movies were developed before sound was included with the rest that followed.

The story of Robin Hood was not only for teenagers or adults, but it was also for children. There have been numerous cartoons that used the Robin Hood theme. Some of these most noted shows included popular Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Disney also produced a Robin Hood movie where Robin Hood was an animated fox.

In recent years a number Robin Hood movies have been made using famous movie actors and actresses. The most common way that the story of Robin Hood is seen is in cameo appearances in a number of movies and television shows. It is not uncommon to be watching a modern day cartoon or show and have a character similar to Robin Hood appear.

Even though the story of Robin Hood is not yet proven true there are many adults and children who enjoy believing in the legend of Robin Hood. Despite the fact that story of Robin Hood is way past its time it is still turning up in movies, books, and television shows across the world. Everyone who reads a book or watches a Robin Hood movie can’t help, but cheer for the character who was trying to help the less fortunate.
